Coat Types For Teddybear Goldendoodles

Straighter - More Sporty

The Straighter Coat as in the type of coat that Pepper has, is straighter and not quite as full as the other coat types. Of the 3 Coat types, although lower shedding than an English Golden Retriever, the Straighter coat is the most likely to shed. Shedding can be light to moderate, but still considerabley less than their shedding parent.

Loose Wavy/ Shaggy Look

The Loose Wavy Coat as in the type of coat that the pup to the right has, possesses a good bit of body and is full, but not quite as full as the Curly coat. Dogs with this coat type can come in any generation including F1, F1b, F2, F2b and Multigen. This coat has a shaggy, tausled look and is very sought after amongst many people searching for an English Goldendoodle.

Curlier Coat

The Curlier Coat as in the type of coat that the pup to the right has, possesses a good bit of body, Curl and a fleecy / fuzzy undercoat whcih gives the coat a fuller look. Dogs with this coat type can come in most generations that contain more poodle in the mix such as F1b, F2b and Multigens.. This coat is curly, similar to that of the poodle, but ideally with the square teddybear influence from the English Golden Retriever. The curly coat with the fleecy undercoat is most likely to be completely non-shedding and is therefore enticing to those with Pet allergies.

Grooming Info

Goldendoodles are considered  light to non shedders depending on the generation and coat type and may be a good match for people with allergies. They do require weekly or biweekly brushing, and many owners opt to have them clipped shorter especially in the Summer months.
